Last night's Southern Championship clash with Beachside also marked another slightly sadder milestone, with Andrew Rhodes's farewell appearance for the club.
One of our founding fathers, Andy has served as Technical Director and, over the past two years, Club President, but is stepping down at the end of this year as his personal circumstances have taken him to a new life slightly further afield.
While Andy's off-field value has been immeasurable, his first love has always been on the pitch. This year he has relinquished his favoured striker role for a position at the back, where his calming presence and undoubted quality have gone a long way to helping our youngsters come through during our maiden voyage into the Southern Championships.
Andy started his football career down at Kingborough Lions, before moving to University and then to Clarence, from where he joined forces with a group of passionate local football folk to form SEUFC.
While his playing time with us has sadly come to an end, Andy still has plenty of work to do in his remaining months in the top job as club president!
But, from a purely footballing perspective, we wanted to say a big thank you Andy!
Andy scored 40 goals in 130 South East appearances, making him the senior men's record holder in both categories.
